Cured Cecina Leon Slices

We believe this is unique cecina ( Spanish cow dry-cured meat ) and we venture to say that once you try it you get the tastiest of the world. Produced by Antonio, the oldest craft “maragato” hence the most original and best of all.

A superior product and deliciously different from those that have already proven it is much more fat, infinitely more juicy, tender and succulent. And that is the raw material chosen is special. They are very fat cows back up to 10 years old with a high degree of infiltration.





During their settlement is smeared with fat from Iberian pigs and sleeps in a cave which may exceed 16 months (much more than the minimum required seven in Protected Geographical Indication). A view shows a beautiful ruby color and exudation of unsaturated fat. The intoxicating smell detects noble aromas of meat with sweet and salty nuances. The palate is recreated with a unique flavor. The touch of salt is very subtle and natural scent of smoke from oak wood and floral tallow is overwhelming. Many Iberian hams and sausages weep for joy when they are allowed to accompany this rare cecina.

To appreciate the flavor should be cut into thin sheets with fat infiltrated with a good bit of extra virgin olive oil with bread and taste of people.



The versatility of this culinary delicacy, is very large: Blue cheese like Cabrales and toast with truffle oil, or one of our tapas cured sheep's cheese, tomato, capers and basil, a scrambled with mushrooms, a salad of watercress and mango stuffed tubes rice, or integrate it into a light sauce for prepared croquettes exquisite.
