It is a wine reflects the best qualities of Mencia. Prepared by the winegrower Ginés Fernández Quiles in their vineyards in northern municipality Cacabelos, Bierzo winemaking center. This is a family winery, based on agriculture with only 13 hectares distributed over 60 small parcels which are a kind of horseshoe around the winery and planted with vines in traditional glass dating from the mid-twentieth century ( strains of up to 100 years).
Their vineyards transmit knowledge and culture more ancient: Pliny the Elder and Strabo, 2000 years ago, and made reference to Berciano vineyard in his writings. Their tillage craft from the pruning to the harvest, the soil texture mostly French, with its high content of quartz, the pH from 4.8 to 6.2 and the level of organic matter less than 1.2 provide great wines quality, elegant, rich and above all different.
Wineries Gancedo not artificially stabilized cold, clarified with egg albumin and used French oak barrels.
